Amethyst

AMETHYST

Amethyst is found in Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, Western Australia, and Morocco.

On the Mohs scale of hardness, it is a 7.

It is a variety of quartz and ranges in color from light lavender to dark purple; deep purple being the most valuable.

We use as faceted stones, natural rough crystal geode rock, and freeform cabochons.

Amethyst is the birthstone for February.

HEALING PROPERTIES:

Amethyst is a stone of the mind.

It will alleviate migraines and helps to bring calmness and clarity where there is anxiety and confusion.

Especially aids sobriety; alcohol, food, sex, and other addictions.

CARE

Amethyst is acceptable for wearing it every day.

Direct sunlight and exposure to heat may cause the color to fade.

Contact with chemicals should be avoided.

To clean, gently scrub with a designated soft “baby” toothbrush and a solution

of mild dish soap (not lemon scented) and warm water, or clean in an at-home ultrasonic unit.
